Step 1: Write down your date of birth
We'll use 15 August 1990 as an example.
Step 2: Reduce the month, day and year separately
Add the digits of each part until you reach a single digit — but stop if you reach 11, 22 or 33 (master numbers).

Step 3: Add the three results and reduce again
8 + 6 + 1 = 15 → 1 + 5 = 6
So someone born on 15 August 1990 has Life Path 6 — The Nurturer.
Why reduce each part first?
Some websites simply add every digit of the date at once. For our example that gives 1+5+0+8+1+9+9+0 = 33, a master number — a different answer!
Reducing each part first is the method taught by most modern numerologists. It respects the separate cycles of month, day and year, and avoids "false" master numbers. Our calculators use this method.
What about master numbers?
If the final total is 11, 22 or 33, you keep it — these are master numbers with intensified energy. They are also linked to their root number (11 → 2, 22 → 4, 33 → 6).
